Artwork & Production Policies

Artwork & Production-Ready Files

For the best results, we prefer production-ready artwork whenever available. Artwork requirements vary depending on how the product will be decorated.

For screen printing, vector artwork such as AI, EPS, SVG, or production-quality PDF is preferred. High-resolution artwork may also be usable depending on the design.

For DTF printing, high-resolution artwork with a transparent background is preferred. A PNG at approximately 300 DPI at the intended print size generally provides the best results.

Embroidery artwork must be professionally digitized into a stitch file, and rhinestone designs may require conversion into a production-ready rhinestone pattern.

A file being vector, editable, or high-resolution does not automatically mean it is production-ready. Production-ready artwork is artwork that can move into the selected production process without meaningful recreation, correction, cleanup, or redesign.

Minor artwork preparation may be included with an order. Artwork requiring significant cleanup, recreation, vectorization, tracing, redesign, font replacement, or other substantial work may incur an artwork fee. We will let you know before completing significant billable artwork work.

Production files, separations, embroidery digitizing files, and other working files created specifically for our production process are not automatically included with the finished order. If editable or production-ready source files are needed for outside use, please discuss this with us in advance.

AI-Generated Artwork

AI-generated artwork can be useful as a concept or starting point, but it is often not production-ready and is generally not our preferred format for finished artwork.

AI images may contain distorted lettering, inconsistent details, unwanted artifacts, inaccurate logos, unusual shapes, or low-resolution elements that are difficult to reproduce cleanly.

AI-generated artwork may require cleanup, redrawing, vectorization, recreation, or other preparation before it can be used. Additional artwork fees may apply when this work is necessary.

Proofs, Revisions & Approval

Digital proofs or mockups are provided when appropriate before production.

Please review proofs carefully. Approval confirms that visible details are correct, including spelling, names, dates, numbers, wording, artwork, colors, print locations, and overall layout.

We may point out an obvious issue when we notice one, but To A Tee Designs cannot guarantee proofreading of customer-provided information.

Once a proof is approved, we produce the order based on that approval. If the finished product differs from the approved proof because of an error on our part, we will work with you to make it right.

Errors that were visible on an approved proof—including misspellings, incorrect names, dates, numbers, or other customer-approved information—do not qualify for a complimentary reprint or refund.

Reasonable minor revisions are generally included. Extensive revisions, repeated changes, significant redesigns, or changes in creative direction may result in additional artwork fees. We will let you know before additional billable work is completed.

Color & Print Placement

Colors displayed on phones, tablets, monitors, and digital proofs are representations and may differ from the finished printed color.

Our standard ink colors are available without a custom color-matching fee. When a specific Pantone/PMS color is required, custom color matching is available for $30 per matched color, per production run.

Pantone matching is intended to achieve a close match to the specified color. Garment color, fabric, ink, underbases, materials, and production conditions can affect the final appearance.

Digital mockups also provide an approximate representation of artwork size and placement. Unless a specific placement has been agreed upon in writing, artwork will be positioned using our standard production placement. A variation of up to approximately ½ inch from the intended placement is considered within normal production tolerance.

Garments with pockets, seams, zippers, hoods, unusual construction, or significant size variations may require placement adjustments.

Digital Mockups & Samples

Digital mockups are our standard method for reviewing artwork, placement, colors, and overall design before production.

Digital mockups are visual representations rather than physical samples, so actual garment color, print size, placement, texture, and finished appearance may vary slightly.

Because screen printing requires significant setup, To A Tee Designs does not produce physical pre-production screen-print samples.

For very small quantities or single decorated items, another production method such as DTF may be recommended when appropriate.

Setup & Production Fees

Setup requirements vary by decoration method.

Depending on the project, fees may include screen-print setup, embroidery digitizing, artwork preparation, specialty color matching, rhinestone setup, specialty materials, or other production-specific preparation.

Any applicable setup or production fees will be included in the quote or invoice before production begins.

Setup fees cover work required to prepare an order for production and are generally nonrefundable once that work has been completed.

Turnaround Times & Rush Orders

Most standard orders are completed within approximately 7–10 business days after:

  • Final artwork and order details are approved

  • The required deposit or payment has been received

  • Necessary garments and materials are available or secured

Turnaround times may vary based on order size, decoration method, product availability, specialty materials, artwork requirements, and production schedule.

If your order is needed for a specific event or deadline, please provide that date when requesting your quote.

Rush production may be available depending on our current schedule, product availability, order complexity, and required completion date. Rush fees are quoted individually and must be paid in full before rush production begins.

A rush deadline is not considered accepted until To A Tee Designs has confirmed the date and the applicable rush charge has been approved and paid.

Supplier delays, shipping disruptions, severe weather, equipment issues, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control may affect production schedules. If an unexpected delay occurs, we will communicate with you as soon as reasonably possible.

Order Quantities & Production Spoilage

Pricing is based on the quantities and specifications included in the approved quote.

Changes to quantities may affect per-piece pricing, setup requirements, production time, or the overall order total.

While we make every reasonable effort to produce the full quantity ordered, occasional garment defects or production spoilage can occur.

Orders may be subject to an under-run of up to 3% of the total quantity. Customers are not charged for items that are not successfully completed and delivered.

If an exact finished quantity is required for an event, team, employee group, participant list, or other purpose, please let us know when placing the order so additional garments can be ordered when appropriate.

To A Tee Designs will not intentionally produce and charge for quantities above the approved order without customer authorization.
